William "Bill" Darrold Blazer

Bill passed away at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Silverdale, Wash., on May 12, 2022, after a long battle with cancer and more recently dementia. Bill was 76 years young.
In 2006, Bill retired from his position as the Transportation and Ordnance Director of Naval Base Kitsap Keyport and Naval Submarine Base Bangor. Bill began his federal career at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, Color. Earlier he held construction roadway jobs and once owned Bill’s Texaco in Aurora, Colo. In his teen and adolescent years, he worked at Limon Truck Stop, for Doc Adams the veterinarian, and tended to farm animals at the sale barn.
Bill was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force (1968-1969), as a Forward Radio Operator.
Bill was born in Limon, Colo. on February 4, 1946. He graduated from Limon High School Class of 1964 and later earned a Bachelor's degree from City University in Seattle. Over his years in the Northwest, Bill had been a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, Elks Club and Knights of Columbus, in Bremerton.
He is predeceased by his parents, Helen and Don, two sisters Donna and Luella Fay. He is survived by his son Brandon (Mary Francis), granddaughters Estelle, Chiara, and Francesca of Redmond, Wash,, brother Tom (Dianne) of Georgia, sisters Doris and Della of Colorado, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his wife Margaret, stepson Stanley (Lora), and stepson Adam (Bella) and bonus grandson Landen.
Throughout his life, Bill enjoyed many activities including traveling, skiing, boating, reading, playing Sudoku, watching Denver Broncos football games and spending time in the garden with Margaret. Bill loved all his pets and they surely miss him now.
Memorial Prayer Service was held at Holy Trinity Parish in Bremerton, Wash. on Friday, June 10, 2022. Cremation by The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo, with his final resting place at the Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Limon, Colo. Graveside services will be at the Pershing Cemetery in Limon on July 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
